The Cloister
It provided asylum for the pilgrims and protected the Holy hut. According the original plans of the architect Johann Lucas Hildebrandt from Vienna, the cloister was supposed to consist of two storeys and be built on a unique oval plan view with 14 chapels.
Loreto Chapel of the Virgin Mary (Holy House, Santa Casa)
Loreto in Rumburk with its stucco and sculptural decoration is among the most valuable Loretos in the Czech Republic. The highly architecturally valued outer arch of the loreto chapel is the baroque copy of the Italian renessaince original.
The Pilgrimage Chapel of Holy Stairs (Sancta Scala)
The building of the chapel was built due to contributions from the superior of the Capuchin monastery – father Bernardin with funds from the Rumburk dominion owner Josef Václav, prince of Liechtenstein in the years 1767-1770.
St. Lawrence Church and the Capuchin monastery
The will of the Rumburk estate owner, Count Franz Eusebius of Pötting, from the year 1662 was an impulse to build a Capuchin monastery in Rumburk. In his will he ordered his heir under the threat of property loss to build a Capuchin monastery for 12 monks “to thank God for the affluence”.
Contemporaneity
The Loreto of Rumburk with the statue of the Black Madonna of Loreto is a significant place of pilgrimage in northern Bohemia. It was built in the 18th century as a part of the Capuchin Monastery by the St. Lawrence Church (1683-1685).
